TERMSIt's also enjoyable that the 'arrogant' one is accused of 'lowering or hiding' her eyes, as though she were abashed or ashamed; thus the teasing tone of the first line.
Then of course, if her eyes are so persistently lowered, how can she see anything? That works just as well, and amusingly, as asking what she means by it. This too gives an extra filip to the elegant wordplay with man:zuur .
